The
Kinleys: Two voices, one dream!
It snowed in Nashville but there were no signs of cold feet
as...
HEATHER KINLEY WED MARK MENDENHALL
DEC. 2 Nashville, Tenn. (December 3, 2000)-- The Heather Kinley
/ Mark Mendenhall wedding took place over the weekend and the
couple got hitched without a hitch! The priest conducting the
ceremony has known twins Heather and Jennifer Kinley since they
first moved to Nashville eleven years ago and his long-term friendship
with the twins lent a comfortable and relaxed air to the proceedings.
Jennifer Kinley and her husband Adam Hughes sang the Everly's
"Let It Be Me" as planned but Jennifer was too choked up to finish
the last verse, "now and forever, let it be me." It was a poignant
moment in a ceremony full of them. Long-time friend Trace Adkins
attended. The Kinleys have been buds with him since their very
first tour when they and Adkins opened for Clint Black in '98.
A light snow fell over Nashville as the guests left the church.
The wedding party jumped into a vintage '50s-era Greyhound bus
and took a tour of the city before arriving at the reception which
was held at Nashville's Hillwood Country Club. The tony setting
for the formal sit-down dinner and reception party did not appear
to inhibit the rowdy gathering of friends and relatives who whooped
it up during the toasts and quickly filled the dance floor Heather
looked incredible in a gorgeous, halter type wedding dress with
a late '60s vintage feel to it. She found it on sale for $100
at a local bridal salon which was especially fortunate as she
had previously set her heart on a $4,000 designer dress before
deciding to look around a little bit more. She looked like a million
bucks, of course. DO NOT DISTURB: Heather and her new husband
are in Hawaii for a 10-day honeymoon. The Kinleys current single,
aptly enough, is the Radney Foster penned and produced, "I'm In"
('If you need a lover and a friend, baby I'm In!'). Their sophomore
album "II" has been enjoying rave reviews. Venerable critic David
McGee (former Rolling Stone editor) writing for Barnes&Noble.com
states "Right as rain, with a hard-edged band keeping the tracks
hot, and the sisters projecting equal amounts of pugnacious self-assurance
and touching vulnerability." While NPR radio's "All Things Considered"
commentator Elysa Garder dubbed it "A gracefully gritty collection
that should endear them to contemporary country fans and the kind
of country-savvy pop fans that embraced acts like the Judds and
The Dixie Chicks."
THE KINLEYS CELEBRATE!
Jennifer and Heather Kinley were able to ring in their 30th birthday
in grand style recently when they sang the National Anthem at
the Philadelphia Eagles/Dallas Cowboys game. Jennifer Kinley herself
offers the following report of the special day.
"Singing at the Eagles game was great, especially since
it was our birthday, and some of our family and friends were there,"
said Jennifer. "My father and my Uncle Bill had field seats
and were just beside themselves, since they have been HUGE Eagles
fans for 40 years! There was a Neil Diamond impersonator that
came out and sang "America" just before our National Anthem. It
was a chilly day, however, and we were all freezing! After the
game we went to our favorite place to visit when we come home...they
have the best cheesesteak hoagies. We all visited and had fun
and celebrated Heather and I entering our third decade!!! A BLAST
was had by all! It was the perfect birthday gift, spending it
with my family and friends!!!!"

Reached on a rare day home in Nashville The Kinleys reaction was:
"Yeah!!! Our dream, from childhood on, has been to be the reigning
duo of the year and with some hard work, the right songs, the
retirement of Brooks & Dunn, and help from above, we hope to see
our dream come true. In the meantime, getting nominated again
by our peers feels very warm and satisfying. Thanks everybody!"
The Kinleys new album, produced in part by Radney Foster, is garnering
rave reviews. Mario Tarradell of the Dallas Morning News called
it "a soulful and organic piece of work" and the venerable David

heels of their Epic Records debutt disc Just Between You &
Me which sold over 500,000 units and helped the sisters win
the coveted "Best New Duo Or Group" from the Academy
of Country Music.
Jennifer Kinley
Gets Hitched!
Jennifer Kinley married longtime love Adam Hughes on Saturday,
May 20 in a beautiful afternoon ceremony at her manager's home
outside Nashville. The newlyweds are currently on a two-week honeymoon
to Italy. Jennifer and sister Heather are hot on the country singles
chart with the sizzling single "She Ain't The Girl For You" the
first cut from their upcoming disc The Kinleys II due in July.
Kinleys New Video "She Ain't The Girl For You" A New York City
nightclub is the setting for The Kinleys new video "She Ain't
The Girl For You". The single of the same title has just been
released to country radio and is the first cut from the duo's
long-awaited album on Epic Records The Kinleys II due in record
stores in July.
THE KINLEYS FIND
A GOOD SPORT IN CHELY WRIGHT
No one can accuse Chely Wright of holding a grudge. Seems both
The Kinleys and Wright had their heart set on recording a song
entitled "She Ain't The Girl" but The Kinleys actually ended up
cutting the song. Proving herself to be a great sport, Wright
joined Heather and Jennifer at the home recording studio of producer
Radney Foster recently to add background vocals to the song. The
song is the first single from their upcoming disc "The Kinleys
II' due in stores July 18.
THE KINLEYS - IS
THERE SOMETHING IN THE WATER?!?!
That sound you are hearing is undoubtedly the sound of every
male heart in America breaking. Right on the heels of her sister
Jennifer's engagement to Adam Hughes came the news that Heather
Kinley is also set to get hitched. The lucky man this time is
pharmaceutical sales rep Mark Mendenhall and he popped the question
to Heather exactly seven days after Jennifer's engagement. Keeping
the Kinley wedding heirlooms evenly split between the twins has
proven to be no problem: Jennifer is sporting her mother's original
engagement ring and Heather will don her mother's wedding dress
on her big day.
